Pride & Prejudice

As I wrote in my previous blog at myspace (click here), I’ve been reading Pride and Prejudice for school. I just finished reading and it took me about 2 weeks to finish it, with schoolwork and all in between.

The book was okay. It didn’t get boring, but I also wasn’t jumping up and down about it. I’ve read better and I’ve read worse. So this one was okay for me. Although sometimes it did take long for the characters in the book to get to the point and that’s something I don’t really like, and start skipping some lines, but okay. I do get the title though and I think it’s perfect for the story line.

And I’ve learned from the book to never judge anyone before you get to know them. Well I don’t do that, because I hate it, but I know that a lot of people do so… no wait, maybe sometimes I do have my own prejudice against people, but I try to limit it, because you may hate someone for no reasoin and they can turn out to be someone who could be your friend… or more

There was also the difference in culture of than and now, because in the book people could marry their cousins. And parents would arrange marriages just for money and wealth and happiness came second. geez, that’s just absurd. What is a marriage without love? I don’t think that’s acceptable. And marrying someone in the family… GROSS!

So later I’ll see which book I’ll be reading next. In 3 weeks I have my english oral exams and I still have 3 books to read. No actually 2, since I’ve already read one, but I’m gonna read it again just to see if I still remember all.
