All about my vacation in Curaçao

Hey everyone,
I’m back from my 5 day trip to Curaçao and here to write about it.

The flight itself was very exhausting. We left the house for the airport at 3.30 AM, because the plane was scheduled to leave at 6.30 AM. At the airport there was nothing much to do or see, because it was the middle of the night (or should I say very early in the morning?) and most shops at the airport were closed. Luckily for me there was WIFI internet connection there, so I was able to kill some time on my PDA cellphone. I was only able to log into my hotmail account and not into my Twitter or Myspace. No matter what I did, I couldn’t log in to those sites. Later it appeared I forgot my own password. (doh!) But my hotmail one was already saved, so I didn’t have to log in.

Here I am standing in line:

Going on vacation!!

Hey guys,
I just wanted to let you know that I’m gonna be offline for a week, because I’m going on vacation with the whole family (mom, dad and my lil’ bro). We’re going to the small island called: Curaçao.
I’ve not been there since I was 2 years old, so yeah I don’t remember a darn thing about the island. So I’m very excited. I preferred to go to Holland as usual, but yeah maybe somewhere different can be fun too. My mom was there in January, and the pics she took look like fun, so I’m excited. I’ll have my camera with me so expect a lot of photos soon.
So I’ll be back in a week.
Bye,
Clayton

Been accepted to PTC!!

Last thursday I’ve been accepted the Polytenic College.
It’s a local college all about technology. I’ve decided to switch my former university for this one, because this is something I actually want to study.

I’ll be studying Information & Communication Technology (ICT), so in about 5 years I’ll have my bachelor degree in technology, with specialization web applications. I’ll then be a professional webdesigner, instead of a self thought one. yay!!!

A laugh and a tear for MJ – RIP Michael Jackson

Today I watched Michael Jackson’s memorial show on TV like millions of you out there. And I must say that it has been a very touching I’m sure you will agree.

The show affected me waaay more than I ever expected it to be. I was all emotional and had shaky eyes. And when MJ’s daughter said her farewell and broke into tears so did…. Yes, tears actually rolled from my face. That is a very heartbreaking moment. Even now when thinking about it I can feel my eyes itching again.

See, everyone saw Michael as an entertainer, a musician, an icon, sometimes even “wacko jacko”, but for the first time we saw him as a father…. And that’s something we never knew. And it reminds us that he was a very loving person.

The man lived an interesting life and though it was short I’m sure he lived more then any of us ever will!

That is another reason why I was so emotional.
you see most of the time I’m kinda cold and emotionless. I’ve “toughen” myself over the years, but seeing all this made me realize that life is short and also to never ever give up on your dreams. MJ hadn’t and he has achieved so much.

I myself have big dreams and sometimes wonder if they aren’t a bit “too big” for me to achieve, but watching the life of MJ I now realize that I shouldn’t give up. I need to keep on fighting and believing in myself. Believing that I can achieve all I want.

I’ve never really considered myself a fan of Michael Jackson, but since his dead his music his been all over the radio and the TV and I realize just exactly how many songs of him I knew and how many I loved. And also the very positive message they contain.

Who can forget The Earth Song? One of my most favorite songs ever. So epic and so touching.

Let’s open out hearts and love each other; keep on dreaming and believing and your dreams will come true.

Rest in peace Michael Jackson, you will never be forgotten and live on in the hearts of us all!!!

Working out at the gym!

For a long time I’ve wanted to go to the gym and try to live more healthy, so I finally took the step yesterday. With my friend Zoureena as my “gym buddy” we started yesterday.
Yesterday we only worked out for a half hour so I was very excited to go back there again today. Z! texted me that she wouldn’t go today, because her body was aching. She had already started a day earlier than me. I laughed at her and said that it was okay.
I went alone today and worked out a full hour and…

OMG!!! MY BODY EFFING HURTS!!!!

Lol. Yeah what else did I expect? Not this, that’s for sure.

Update: And the solution is…!

I’m believe that too now.
So after some phone calls to some banks, I wasn’t able to find a way to send the money without emptying my bank account. I once again explain the web company and explained it to them. They told me I could try to use a Paypal account.
Which is another problem, because I don’t have one, nor a credit card and I really didn’t want to bother any family member with my problem.
So after hours of pulling my hair out – not literally ofcourse - I came up with an idea.

Quickly send a few emails to 2 local web companies asking them if they would be able to do an online payment for me. One replied and told me they could, with just a few extra costs. And finally I can breathe.

The guy from the local company was very helpful and he also read the policy on the website. It’s stated somewhere barely visible that if you want to cancel the account, before the payment is done you have to fill in a cancelation form. NO ONE AT THAT SITE TOLD ME THAT WHEN I SIMPLY MAILED THEM TO TELL THEM THAT. All they said is that if I didn’t pay they would block it. So I assumed that, this would settle it.

I still think they should clearly wrote all of this down at their website. I’m almost pretty sure that I’m not the first person who was victim of this misunderstanding.

Thank anyways for those of you here who read and replied
I always manage to get myself into deep sh!t-a-kee unconventional situations  ………..

but luckily (and hopefully) by tomorrow everything will be over.

Update: And they explain!

Update on my earlier problem: Did I get scammed?

I mailed them back this morning to explain everything (because their phone wasn’t working).
I also said that I’m willing to pay up, but that from my country to theirs would almost triple the amount of money that needs to be paid.

I said to them that I cancelled with 24hours and that if I cancel I shouldn’t able to pay, especially since I didn’t use their service.
They replied to say that the law indeed says that people get a thinking time, but only for goods, not for a service. And what they provide is a service.

I still find it crazy, because all a person would have to do is fill in a fake email, name and address if the person wanted to scam them. I’m not saying that I did that or would do that. The point I’m trying to make is, that their site only requires those things and you get an account. Which meant that if some random person filled in some fake info they wouldn’t be able to track him down, because it’s not like the confirm anything. They don’t have a guarantee for themselves who asks for something. I think they work with, you ask for something, and you pay wether or not you like it or not.

I should have just used my own local webhost

Did I get scammed?

I posted this discussion earlier today on evthreads.com

A year ago I wanted to put on of my websites online and I decided that I would do that with a webhost that’s located abroad, because it was much cheaper than the local one.
You fill in your info and within 24h you have a web account.
You need to pay within 7 days or else the account will get blocked.

I filled in the form and applied. I got my website as promised and need to pay within a week. However, I didn’t like the service they provided, so I mailed them to tell them I would like to cancel my order, because it doesn’t have what I needed.
They said that the webdomain couldn’t be deleted until within one year period, which I know about domains. But that the account would be blocked if payment didn’t happen.
I told them that I wasn’t gonna use the account so they can just cancel it.

They cancelled the account, but now a year later they are mailing me that there still hasn’t been any payment. And to make it clear I haven’t been using the account, because it’s blocked now.
So they mailed me and said that I needed to pay. I told them that they said that if I didn’t want it I need to leave it and it would automatically get blocked.

I mailed them back to ask why I need to pay for something I didn’t use and that I mailed them that I didn’t need their service any longer, because it’s not what I need.
They say that I must pay the costs they made to create and account and a domain. If I didn’t within 3 days they will take legal accounts.

So did I get scammed? I told them that I don’t need them anymore and they say that they cancel the order if theirs no payment within a week.
And now a year later they treat to sue me for something I didn’t even use.
I’ve told them that I would pay them to get it over with, but I don’t like that I’m paying for something I never got to profit from.

So just to ask what do you think?
Just to make it clear I will pay them, although I’m disappointed in them, but yeah… I would like to hear what someone else thinks.
